Strawweight prospect Amber “The Apex Predator” Stautzenberger picked up her second victory over Kathina “Kill Switch” Catron in a rematch tonight at Legacy Fighting Championship 41 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Stautzenberger dominated the fight on the mat en route to a Unanimous Decision win.

Stautzenberger quickly submitted Catron in the pair’s first meeting in October and she had Catron in danger on multiple occasions again tonight. Catron escaped each time and she rallied with strikes late in the fight, but it was not enough and Stautzenberger cruised to a well-deserved victory.

After an early exchange of knees in the clinch, Stautzenberger (6-4-0) set the tone for the remainder of the fight by securing the first of many headlock throws into side control. She punched from the top until Catron (6-6-0) scrambled up to her feet, but it was not long until Stautzenberger threw her down again. This time, she trapped Catron in a top-side crucifix and landed a series of unanswered punches and elbows. She took Catron’s back and tried for a rear-naked choke and an armbar, but Catron slammed her way free and finished the round on top.

The pace slowed somewhat in round two, but Stautzenberger used another headlock throw to take Catron down. Catron scrambled and gave up her back, which allowed Stautzenberger to lock on a body triangle as she worked to set up a rear-naked choke. Catron eventually escaped into Stautzenberger’s guard and she landed punches while fighting off an armbar. The fighters stood and Catron landed a flurry of punches before the bell.

Catron had her best success in round three and she was able to fend off an early throw attempt. She backed Stautzenberger up with punches, but Stautzenberger took her down on two more occasions. She transitioned to Catron’s back and once again attacked with rear-naked choke and armbar attempts. Catron took top position in a scramble and she rained down punches in the final 20 seconds.

In spite of Catron’s late-fight rally, all three judges scored the bout for Stautzenberger, who rebounded from a fourth-round submission loss to Delaney “Lil’ Scrappy” Owen in a Sugar Creek Showdown women’s strawweight title fight. She has won two of her past three bouts, with both of those victories coming against Catron.

Winner: Amber Stautzenberger by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 6-4
