Martial Arts Training – Adults
Students at Mohler Mixed Martial Arts join our family for a variety of reasons: self defense, self confidence, stress relief, weight loss and overall fitness. Our school will help you achieve your goals. It also provides benefits that you may not be thinking about, especially a strong feeling of camaraderie. While martial arts, like any sport, is competitive, our students take pride in training with each other so that we all improve. Moreover, it is not uncommon for our students to become friends and socialize with each other outside of training.
Mohler Mixed Martial Arts offers several different classes for its adult students of all ages and skill level, from beginners to advanced:
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
- No-Gi Submission Grappling
- MMA/Mixed Martial Arts
- Fitness Boxing
- Muay Thai Kickboxing
Get Yourself into Shape
If you are out of shape, our classes will get you into shape. Our fitness boxing program is particularly geared toward getting our students into great cardiovascular condition. Likewise, sparring (whether in boxing, ground-fighting or Muay Thai classes) for 3-5 minute rounds is great cardio. You will be amazed by the results.
Students New to Martial Arts
For those students new to martial arts, our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes are specifically structured to ease you into the art. We offer adult beginners classes two evenings a week where there is no sparring, just technique training. At our regular evening classes, after Professor Mohler has all students practice certain techniques, new students (those who have less than six months of experience) are separated from the more experienced students to train in basic jiu jitsu principles. After six months, students can begin to spar with other students.
Students with Previous Martial Arts Training
Mohler Mixed Martial Arts welcomes students with previous martial arts experience, regardless of the discipline. Professor Mohler himself trained in several different martial arts before discovering and falling in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. If you have already trained in jiu jitsu, Professor Mohler is confident that he and his instructors can take you to the next level of skill and further.
Fight Father Time
For those of us feeling past our prime, martial arts can turn that around. The stress relief alone from a couple hours of sweat-filled training will make you feel young again. The joy of competition and victory will remind you of your high school or college days. Some may tell you that martial arts is a young man’s or woman’s sport. And, certainly, we face limitations as our bodies get older. But martial arts will keep your mind young and get your body strong. Many of the higher belts at Mohler Mixed Martial Arts are in their 40s and 50s, and have no intention of slowing down.
